tlcposterThe Houston Black Film Festival welcomes the official selection, “The Letter Carrier” by 1860. A dark fairy-tale folklore in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The story of a boy and his family hidden from slavery and a parent’s will to protect their freedom at all costs.

Making his directorial debut, .Jesse L. Martin is an American actor and singer. He is best known for originating the role of Tom Collins in the musical ‘Rent’ (On Broadway as well as in the Film), NYPD Detective Ed Green for Ten seasons on ‘Law & Order’ and most recently Detective Joe West on ‘The Flash’. Jesse founded Jim Butler Productions, wrote the Script and Lyrics for ‘The Letter Carrier’ and Co Directed the film.
